Concrete Safety Manager Jobs in NYC

We hire DOB-certified Concrete Safety Managers (CSMs) for active concrete operations on NYC Major Buildings. CSM roles often combine with Site Safety Manager assignments at higher pay bands for managers who hold both credentials.

What you'll do

  • Inspect formwork, shoring, and reshoring before each pour
  • Verify pour cards, mix tickets, slump tests on delivery
  • Sign off on each pour in the CSM logbook
  • Inspect formwork stripping operations and verify break test results before reshoring is removed
  • Document defects and corrective action
  • Coordinate with the project's structural engineer of record

What we require

  • Current NYC DOB Concrete Safety Manager certification
  • Current NYC SST Supervisor card
  • OSHA-30 Construction
  • Field experience on NYC concrete operations (mat pours, deck pours, post-tensioned slabs, self-consolidating concrete experience all weighted favorably)
  • Clean license history

What you'll get

  • W-2 employment — no 1099, no license rental, no temp-agency cut
  • Weekly direct deposit — pay hits Friday regardless of client billing cycles
  • Employer-paid medical, dental, and vision
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Paid time off plus holidays
  • All license renewals paid by SSM — DOB CSM renewal fees, CE hours, DOB SSM renewal if applicable
  • Continuing education support — ACI, OSHA, and DOB course costs covered
  • Project variety — we run CSM assignments across residential high-rise, commercial, hospitality, and infrastructure, so you're not stuck on one building type

FAQ

Do dual-credential managers (CSM + SSM) earn more?

Yes. Managers who hold both the DOB Concrete Safety Manager certification and the DOB Site Safety Manager license are eligible for the dual-credential pay band, which runs higher than either single-credential rate. The exact range depends on project type and duration.

Can I work overnight pour shifts?

Yes. Many of SSM's concrete assignments include late-night and early-morning pour windows, particularly on high-rise residential projects with tight concrete schedules. Overnight and weekend shifts carry a shift premium.

Does SSM sponsor or support the ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician credential?

Yes. If you're on our roster and you don't yet hold the ACI credential, we'll support the coursework and testing costs. ACI-certified CSMs are preferred on projects where third-party slump and cylinder documentation is required by the structural engineer of record.

What if I hold the CSM but my SSM license is expired?

We can place you on CSM-only assignments while you work through the SSM reinstatement process. Talk to our staffing team about your situation.

How long are typical CSM assignments?

The concrete phase on a high-rise residential project typically runs 12 to 24 months. Some assignments are shorter (a single mat pour or a concrete remediation project). We match you to assignments based on your availability and preferences.
